            See?  There is no someday.

That’s the shirt I bought in Gatlinburg last summer and it’s been something like a motto of mine ever since.  I’ve done really well applying this to the big stuff – traveling the world, saving up money to travel more, finding and seizing great opportunities.  The little stuff though, most of it keeps getting put off as something to do “someday.”  Well, “someday” doesn’t exist and it’s time to make sure of it happens this summer.  Since I do better with clear deadlines and accountability, I’m making a list and trying to accomplish it in the next ten weeks, starting today and ending Aug 15.  That’s the week Luke gets back from basic and, in all likelihood, Emily and I move to an apartment together, so mid-August will mean transition.  Since a lot of these are time management related habits that will change when my routine does, it makes sense to set that as the end date for the project.  As for the blog itself, I’m not posting because I think this will make terribly interesting reading, but because it will help me be accountable.  I may keep the blog beyond this project to document travels, thus the somewhat off-topic title (more on this later).

So, without further ado, the list.

Lose 10 pounds
The exact number on this one is contingent on what the scale says when I go out and acquire one, but 10 is the most likely final number.  I’ve been meaning to do this for a while for my own sake, and the fact that Luke will also be thinner when I see him again is just added motivation.  For this one, I’ll be posting pretty regular updates on my progress.

Visit at least two Colonial Williamsburg sites a week
I’m going on my fifth year of having free access to this amazing resource and I’ve done almost nothing with it.  Time to change that.  Expect at least brief descriptions of the sites visited.

Finish Level 4 of my Rosetta Stone Spanish
I did really well making progress on this when I first bought it, then took a break to focus on Hebrew.  With the class over, it’s time to get back to it.  Bits of the updates on this section might even occur in Spanish if I’m feeling ambitious.

Finish translating the book of Ruth
Speaking of Hebrew, if I don’t keep using it, I’m going to forget it.  The rest of Ruth is a bare minimum for the summer, given the length of the book and the progress we made in class.  If I finish it early in the summer, I may start on something else.

Finish sorting through all my photos and papers from last summer’s travel
Because really, it’s been a year.

So there they are, my five goals for the next ten weeks.
